Early Days
So you have done it. Finally you can hold your baby in your arms, hug her and kiss her while looking her in the eyes. In the first few days and weeks, you get to know each other. You can finally see who has been kicking your stomach these past moths. Your child can now look at the world around her.
Surely the first few weeks are hectic ones. Sleeping becomes a luxury, priorities shift around to accommodate the baby’s needs. You become invisible as everyone coos at your little bundle of joy while you proudly present him or her to the world.
You might be the happiest person on earth, but then again, you might not as baby blues and post natal depression are quite common in Malta too.
Some mothers and fathers fall in love with their baby at first sight, others take more time. You probably have a hundred questions to ask and are getting thousands of advices and answers from everyone. It is funny how when a newborn is present, every mother around becomes a baby expert. Some tell you hold him close, others tell you to let him cry and not spoil him, some tell you to dress him more, others tell you that he’s too hot …and the list goes on. So Babiesmalta has created a series of articles which will help you understand your baby. All articles are written by qualified midwives and doctors, so that you can rely on them for the care of your baby.
Remember to upload your cute baby’s photo in our Photogallery.
